A brand new bookstore will open next week at Deerfield Towne Center.

Barnes & Noble is hosting a grand opening for its new location on January 19, with local author Tonya Mitchell cutting the ribbon.

In a statement, the bookstore chain said the site is designed to look “light and airy.”

The store will open at 10 a.m. and Mitchell, author of A feigned madness, will be there to sign copies of his historical fiction novel.

Staff at the Waterstone Center store, which closed in August 2021, will now work at the new location and have worked to organize their selection of books.

“We’re excited to kick off 2022 with two store openings in Ohio and Virginia. Our new Deerfield Towne Center bookstore in Mason is moving from Waterstone Center, ”said Amy Fitzgerald, bookstore manager at Barnes & Noble, in a statement.

Store manager John Walls and his team will bring books specifically for the Mason community.

“We are very happy to be back in the community with the opening of our new store. We have missed our customers very much and we are delighted to see them again, ”Walls said in the statement. “I’ve been with Barnes & Noble for almost 20 years and have a fantastic team of experienced booksellers ready to welcome customers, old and new, and help them discover their next big read. The new store is so much brighter, with a wonderful selection of books and an updated gift department that we are very proud of.

The Deerfield Towne Center Barnes & Noble is located at 5175 Deerfield Blvd. to Mason. Find more information at barnesandnoble.com.
